Narin Özer

She completed the Clinical Psychology undergraduate program at Shahid Beheshti University with a full scholarship in 2015. In 2019, she graduated with high honors from the Clinical Psychology Master’s Program at Üsküdar University. During her graduate studies, she volunteered at NP Feneryolu Medical Center under the supervision of Dr. Cengiz Demirsoy, working with clients diagnosed with Obsessive–Compulsive Disorder and Anxiety Disorders. She attended physician/psychologist consultations as an observer in ÇEMATEM and AMATEM units at Erenköy Mental and Neurological Diseases Hospital. At ÇEMATEM, she worked as a co-therapist in SAMBA group sessions with children and adolescents and participated in the clinical evaluations and rounds conducted by Prof. Dr. Özalp Ekinci. She also completed a volunteer internship at the Green Crescent Counseling Center (YEDAM) and joined the supervisions of Prof. Dr. Kültegin Ögel. Her compulsory internship was carried out at NP Istanbul Brain Hospital in the psychosis and addiction units. During her graduate studies, she took part in the Türkiye Mental Health Addiction Profile Project at Üsküdar University, where she was responsible for the data collection process in the Anatolia Region. Between 2018–2019, she worked as a psychologist at “Melodi Special Education Center” and began seeing clients independently.

Between 2019 and 2025, she served as a Clinical Psychologist at the Green Crescent Counselling Center (YEDAM). She conducted individual and group therapy sessions with individuals experiencing tobacco, alcohol, substance, gambling, and internet addictions, as well as their family members. Throughout her work at the institution, she received clinical supervision from leading experts, including Prof. Dr. Kültegin Ögel, Dr. Ömer Kardaş, and Dr. Hakan Tokur.

Within YEDAM, she took part in the “Scientific Studies Group,” as well as working groups focused on “Foreign Nationals” and “Vulnerable Populations” in addiction services. For two years, she served as the coordinator of the “Vulnerable Populations” working group. In these groups, she actively contributed to the development of “Addiction Intervention Guidelines” for “Foreign Nationals,” “Women,” “Elderly,” and “LGBTQ+” individuals in Türkiye. She also delivered trainings within and outside the institution on these topics.

To strengthen her professional competencies, she completed a wide range of trainings and supervisions in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for children, adolescents, and adults; EMDR Therapy (Level 2); Addiction Counselling and supervision; Mindfulness; and Motivational Interviewing.

She is a member of the Association for Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies (CBT), the EMDR Association, and the Turkish Psychological Association.

As a member of TIG (Trauma Healing Group) and the IHH psychosocial support team, Narin Özer provides voluntary psychological support during disaster and emergency situations.

She speaks Persian (Farsi) and English and offers psychotherapy services in these languages. She also provides Persian–Turkish translation services.
